How we handle your information.
We collect as little as possible, we do not sell anything, and we never make information about your family a condition of getting help.

The short version
You can read our site, browse programs, and look at the events calendar without telling us anything. We only hold information you choose to give us, we use it only to provide the support you asked for, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.
What we collect
- Information you give us. Your name, email, phone number, and anything you choose to share when you email us, register for a workshop, request support, volunteer, or become a member.
- Donation information. Donations are processed by Stripe. Stripe handles your payment card details directly. We never see or store your full card number.
- Basic website data. Our web host keeps standard server logs, such as pages requested and general location, to keep the site running and secure.
What we do with it
- Answer your question and provide the support, workshop, or program you asked about.
- Send you the information you signed up for, such as event reminders or program updates.
- Report anonymous, aggregated totals to funders, such as how many families attended a workshop. Individual names and stories are never included without written permission.
What we never do
- We do not sell, rent, or trade your information.
- We do not share a family's diagnosis, IEP details, or personal circumstances with a school, agency, or funder without your written permission.
- We do not require you to disclose a diagnosis to receive help.
- We do not use your photograph or story publicly without a signed release, and you can withdraw that permission at any time.
Children and youth
Our programs serve young people, and we take that seriously. We do not knowingly collect information directly from a child under 13 without a parent or guardian. Information about a minor comes from the parent, guardian, or self-advocate themselves, and it stays with the program team supporting that family.
Service providers we use
We use a small number of ordinary business tools to operate: a web host, an email provider, Stripe for donations, and standard office software. Each holds only what it needs to do its job, and each has its own privacy policy.
Your choices
- Ask us what we have about you, and we will tell you.
- Ask us to correct or delete it, and we will, unless we are required to keep a record for grant or legal reasons.
- Unsubscribe from any email at any time.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we will change the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be noted on the page.
